Andrew Hutchinson is an Associate Director at Herren Associates and is a Subject Matter Expert in DoD Financial Management & Cost Estimation. Mr. Hutchinson has over 13 years of experience in management consulting. His primary focus has been the pursuit of cost savings while simultaneously increasing effectiveness. He has worked on projects for the US Navy, US Army, US Marine Corps Headquarters, several civilian agencies, and private sector organizations. Through these projects, Mr. Hutchinson has developed strong competencies in financial management and performance improvement. He has developed a diverse management consulting skill set in areas such as Cost Estimation, Business Case Analysis, Risk Analysis, Federal Financial Management, Business Process Reengineering, Activity-Based Costing, Should Cost, Lean Six Sigma, Enterprise Performance Management, Balanced Scorecard, and Program Management.
Andrew has presented cost modeling techniques at two industry conferences. Andrew was selected to speak at the Society for Cost Estimation and Analysis (SCEA) annual conference in June of 2012. He presented a paper titled “Rapid Business Case Development Using Macro-Based Excel Tool” and fielded questions about the effort from industry stakeholders. Andrew also presented techniques for developing process and cost models at the Casewise International Conference for business model simulation.
Andrew has a Master of Business Administration from the Darden School of Business and a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering degree from Princeton University. At Darden, Andrew graduated with the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence. At Princeton, he pursued certificate programs in Engineering Management Systems and Applications of Computing. He has continued his professional education by earning the Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Cost Estimator / Analyst (CCEA) certifications as well as multiple Lean Six Sigma Green Belts.
